When We Were More (Aron Falls #1) by Finley Daniels: A Heartfelt Journey of Love and Connection

When I first picked up When We Were More by Finley Daniels, I was immediately drawn in by the promise of a sweet love story combined with authentic character connections. As a huge fan of emotional narratives, I eagerly anticipated what this novel had to offer—and wow, it did not disappoint.

From the very first chapter, I felt a warmth that enveloped me, much like a cherished memory with a loved one. As someone who was incredibly close to my grandma before she passed away, certain moments in this book struck an emotional chord. It’s a testament to Daniels’ ability to weave a narrative that resonates deeply with readers, evoking memories and feelings that linger long after the last page is turned.

At the heart of the story is the relationship between Tillie and Henry, a beautifully crafted romance that feels both tender and genuine. Watching them navigate their vulnerabilities and open up about their insecurities is what made it all so real. I was captivated by how their love story unfolded—organically and beautifully, allowing both characters to heal through their connection. The way Finley writes about their journey feels like a gentle reminder that love, in its truest form, helps us grow. Ugh, loved it!!! 💗

One of the standout aspects of this book for me was definitely the secondary characters. Layla, in particular, stole my heart. Every scene she was in brought a smile to my face; her personality shone through the pages, making her one of the sweetest characters I’ve read about in recent months. It’s rare to find supporting characters so well-developed that they add such depth and warmth to a story, yet Daniels nails it with everyone from Layla to the Aron brothers. Oh, and getting to catch up with Shannon? What a delightful cherry on top!

The pacing felt just right, allowing me to savor each character’s story while maintaining a smooth narrative flow. Finley Daniels’ writing style is engaging and relatable, effectively drawing us into the lives of the characters. The emotional moments are balanced with lighthearted humor and camaraderie that kept me hooked. It’s a rollercoaster of feels, but it’s one you’ll gladly ride.

If you’re someone who enjoys heartfelt romances filled with authentic characters you’d want to befriend, then When We Were More is definitely a must-read. Its exploration of love, family, and healing is both inspiring and comforting. I have a feeling this series, particularly the stories of the Aron brothers (especially Uncle Harry!), is going to be a fun journey full of twists and heartfelt moments.

A huge thank you to Finley Daniels for gifting me an ARC of this beautiful story. It touched my heart in ways I didn’t expect, reminding me of the enduring power of love and connection. 💕
